How to review an AI-written reply before sending it
Use a clearly fictional conversation to check captured text, uncertain interpretations, invented facts and commitments before turning an AI candidate into your own message.
The conversation and reply examples below were written to explain a method. They are fictional, not private chat records or observed Jev test outputs.
Start with an ambiguous sentence
“Let’s leave it there.”
The speaker might consider the matter settled, feel tired or want a pause. Without context, none of those interpretations is established. Jev can provide an assessment and reply options, but you still need to relate them to what you know.
1. Check what was captured
Look for missing negatives, times and subjects. OCR can only read visible text, so clipped messages and recognition errors can change the meaning. If context is missing, reading the earlier conversation may help more than immediately picking a candidate.
2. Treat intent as an interpretation to verify
A risk score or probability does not establish that someone is angry, dishonest or acting with a particular motive. For the fictional sentence above, a clarifying option could be: “Do you feel we’ve settled it, or would you like a break?” It is an example of clarification, not a universal answer.
3. Identify new facts and commitments
If a candidate says “I’ll definitely finish it tonight,” first check whether that is realistic. If you do not know yet, you might write: “Let me check my schedule and tell you when I can handle it.” This is another fictional rewrite; use wording that matches the real situation.
- Does the candidate invent a reason you never gave?
- Does it commit you to a deadline, payment, result or meeting?
- Does it disclose another person’s information?
- Does the wording sound like you and fit the relationship?
4. Edit, then decide whether to send
Copying or filling only puts the candidate into the input box. Read it, remove unsupported details and consider a short question where clarification would help. Choosing not to send yet is also an option. Jev keeps sending manual.
